Industrial Ni-MH Power for Critical Backup

Built for demanding standby systems with temperature-aware protection and flexible OEM configuration.

🔬 Designed for Critical Industrial Backup

When a backup battery sits inside an industrial UPS or telecom system, voltage and capacity are only the starting point. The HIMAXBATT 14.4V 15Ah Ni-MH battery pack uses 12S1P F-type cylindrical cells to provide 216Wh nominal energy for stationary backup equipment, control cabinets and other critical standby systems. Its Ni-MH chemistry is paired with a 10kΩ NTC temperature sensor and a 75°C thermal cutoff, allowing the battery to work with the host charging system while adding dedicated temperature protection at pack level.

⚙️ Compact Construction for Equipment Integration

The 12S1P pack is arranged as a compact 6-by-2 block and supported by an FR4 base, with a fire-retardant green PVC heat-shrink sleeve providing external insulation and protection. The standard 205 × 68 × 93 mm form factor uses silicone output leads and a dedicated temperature-sensing connection, while cable length, terminals and other interface details can be adapted for OEM integration. Cell matching, electrical screening, precision spot welding, insulation and final assembly inspection are incorporated into production control, with manufacturing practices developed with reference to internationally recognized industrial Ni-MH performance and safety requirements. IEC 63115-1 specifically covers industrial Ni-MH batteries including stationary telecom and UPS applications, while IEC 63115-2 addresses their industrial safety requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing an industrial backup battery involves more than matching voltage and capacity. Charger compatibility, load demand, temperature, installation space and connection details can all affect the final battery configuration. The following questions address the practical concerns most relevant to integrating this Ni-MH battery into UPS, telecom and industrial equipment.
Why does this Ni-MH battery pack not use a lithium-style BMS?
Ni-MH and lithium-ion batteries use different charging characteristics and management approaches. This pack is designed around Ni-MH charging behavior, with the host charger controlling the charging process. The integrated 10kΩ NTC provides temperature feedback, while the 75°C thermal cutoff adds an independent layer of thermal protection.
Is the 14.4V 15Ah Ni-MH battery suitable for industrial UPS systems?
It is designed for stationary equipment using a compatible 14.4V Ni-MH battery configuration. Typical applications include industrial UPS modules, telecom backup equipment and control cabinets. Before replacement or integration, the host charger’s charging method, voltage, current and mechanical interface should be checked.
Can the battery handle short-duration high-current UPS loads?
The specified pack supports 15A continuous discharge, up to 20A maximum discharge, and up to 50A for a 1-second pulse under the specified configuration. Because UPS startup loads vary by equipment, the actual current waveform and pulse duration should be reviewed when confirming the final battery configuration.
Can HIMAXBATT customize the battery pack for specific equipment?
Yes. OEM and ODM customization can cover cable length, wire gauge, terminal type, temperature-sensing leads, pack dimensions, insulation structure, labeling and other equipment interface requirements. Equipment drawings, electrical specifications or an existing battery sample can help define the final configuration.
What should be checked before replacing an existing UPS battery?
Check the nominal voltage, capacity, charging method, charging current, discharge demand, operating temperature, physical dimensions and connector configuration. For UPS applications, the battery should be evaluated together with the complete charging and backup system rather than selected by voltage alone.
